The BOUSD Spelling Bee was held at Country Hills School. Our 5th and 6th grade spellers competed with other students in our district. It is very tough to get up in front of a large room of people and spell very hard words! I am so proud of each and every one. Congratulations to Arovista’s awesome spellers:
Steven A., Su L., Dean M., John Michael R., and Jessica S.
Letter from the Principal
Esther Vargas-Arovista Site Person of the Year!
Esther Vargas was named Arovista Site Person of the Year. Esther has taken her passion for teaching and has made Arovista’s Transitional Kindergarten class a magical place for her students. She has shaped her students’ first year in elementary school into a truly extraordinary experience.
Esther took the reins of the implementation of Arovista’s TK program and has charted new territory for the past two years. Esther has taken curriculum and with her creativity has made it come alive for her young students. She is known to write her own songs and plays to be especially relevant for her kids yet at the same time exposing her students to such important and high-level concepts. Esther has gone above and beyond to establish a program to meet the developmental needs her TK kids.
Esther has been teaching for several years yet she still has the most energetic personality and such zest for life. She is just perfect for this role at our school. Esther’s enthusiasm for teaching and students is unmatched and is precisely why she was honored as Arovista Site Person of the Year. Congratulations Esther! Thanks for all you do!
